Our kayaking guide Hugo
brought along his friend Trevor on our Abel Tasman trip.
Trevor is a guide on the Routeburn Track. While passing a huge stand of Foxglove
flowers one day the conversation went like this:
Trevor: 'Do you like our lupine flowers?'.
Sandi: 'Foxglove! Digitalis, it is used for heart medication.'
Trevor: 'No, I didn't tell you, perhaps Hugo did.'
Sandi: (with quizzical look)
'It's been one of the most successful plants in the
environmental argument for biological diversity.'
Trevor: Well, I certainly didn't tell you that.
Sandi: Oh Trevor! I said 'Digitalis' not 'Did _you_ tell us'!!
Trevor: I thought this was a weird conversation!
